Canadian Parents for French (CPF)

A funding opportunity for public schools offering French Immersion or Core French

The Culture en classe program, administered by Canadian Parents for French – British Columbia and Yukon (CPF BC & YK), provides eligible schools with financial support to organize educational activities delivered entirely in French.

Up to $1,000 per visit

Each eligible school can receive up to $1,000 per visit, regardless of grade level or program type.

This funding can be used, among other things, to welcome Profaqua to your school and provide students with an interactive science experience delivered entirely in French.

Who can benefit from the program?

The Culture en classe program is available to public schools offering:

• a French Immersion program;
• a Core French program.

Activities must be delivered entirely in French.

Francophone schools within the Conseil scolaire francophone (CSF) are not eligible for this program. Private schools are also not eligible.

How many visits are possible?

French Immersion schools

Schools can receive funding for 2 visits over a 2-year period. Both visits can be used during the same school year or spread over the two years.

Core French schools

Schools can receive funding for 1 visit over a 2-year period.

Additional travel support

CPF BC & YK also offers travel bonuses to help facilitate access to the program for schools located outside Vancouver and Victoria.

The amount of this additional support is determined by CPF based on the school’s location and the travel required.

How can you use this funding with Profaqua?

If your school would like to welcome Profaqua using CPF funding, here is how the process works:

1. Contact Profaqua

Contact us to choose your science workshop, preferred date, and activity details.

2. Profaqua connects you with CPF

Once your project has been established, Profaqua will put the school directly in contact with CPF BC & YK, who will confirm the school’s eligibility for the program.

3. CPF confirms your eligibility

CPF will communicate with the school and provide the information needed to complete the funding application.

4. Finalize your activity with Profaqua

Once the funding has been approved, the school and Profaqua will coordinate the details of the activity.

5. CPF confirms its contribution

Profaqua will provide CPF with the expected cost of the activity. CPF will then confirm the maximum amount of its contribution.

What if the activity costs more than $1,000?

CPF funding can be combined with other sources of funding.

If the cost of the activity exceeds the maximum CPF contribution, the school can cover the difference or use another source of funding.

In this case, Profaqua can issue separate invoices to CPF and the school, according to the agreed-upon arrangements.

Important information

• The funding application must be submitted by the school. Service providers cannot apply on behalf of schools.
• Funding is intended for activities delivered entirely in French.
• CPF generally does not provide deposits before the activity.
• CPF pays eligible invoices within up to 30 days after the activity.
• Schools can combine CPF funding with other sources of funding.
