Canadian Parents for French (CPF)

Funding opportunities for public schools offering French Immersion or Core French

The Culture en classe program, administered by Canadian Parents for French – British Columbia & Yukon (CPF BC & YK), provides eligible schools with financial assistance to organize educational activities delivered entirely in French.

Up to $1,000 per visit

Each eligible school may receive up to $1,000 per visit, regardless of grade level or program type.

This funding can be used to bring Profaqua to your school and provide students with an interactive science experience delivered entirely in French.

Additional travel assistance of up to $200

In addition to funding of up to $1,000 per visit, CPF BC & YK’s Culture en classe program may provide additional travel assistance of up to $200 per visit.

This additional funding is intended, in part, to make French-language educational activities more accessible to schools in remote areas.

The amount awarded depends on the school’s location and the terms established by CPF BC & YK.

An eligible school could therefore receive total funding of up to $1,200 per visit if both the maximum activity funding and the maximum travel assistance are approved.

Who is eligible for the program?

The Culture en classe program is available to public schools offering:

• French Immersion
• Core French

Activities must be delivered entirely in French.

Francophone schools within the Conseil scolaire francophone (CSF) are not eligible for this program. Private schools are also ineligible.

How many visits are available?

French Immersion schools

Schools may receive funding for two visits over a two-year period. Both visits may take place during the same school year or be spread across the two years.

Core French schools

Schools may receive funding for one visit over a two-year period.

How can you use this funding with Profaqua?

If your school would like to welcome Profaqua through CPF funding, here is how to get started:

1. Contact Profaqua

Get in touch with us to choose your science workshop, preferred date, and activity arrangements.

2. Profaqua connects you with CPF

Once your project has been outlined, Profaqua will put your school in direct contact with CPF BC & YK, which can confirm your eligibility for the program.

3. CPF confirms your eligibility

CPF will contact your school and provide the information needed to complete the funding application.

4. Finalize your activity with Profaqua

Once funding has been approved, your school and Profaqua will coordinate the details of the activity.

5. CPF confirms its contribution

Profaqua will provide CPF with the estimated cost of the activity. CPF will then confirm the maximum amount of funding it will contribute.

What if the activity costs more than $1,000?

CPF funding can be combined with other sources of funding.

If the total cost of the activity exceeds the amount approved by CPF, the school can cover the difference or use another funding source.

Profaqua can issue separate invoices to CPF and the school, according to the arrangements agreed upon.

Important information

• The funding application must be submitted by the school. Service providers cannot apply on the school’s behalf.
• Funding is intended for activities delivered entirely in French.
• CPF generally does not provide deposits before the activity takes place.
• CPF pays eligible invoices within up to 30 days after the activity.
• Schools may combine CPF funding with other sources of funding.
• Additional travel assistance of up to $200 per visit may be available, depending on the school’s location and CPF eligibility criteria.
