Profaqua offers a series of science workshops that invite students to explore science while learning about the knowledge, territories, and lived realities of the First Peoples of British Columbia.
Designed in connection with the British Columbia curriculum, these activities foster a better understanding of the natural environment and highlight the deep connections between Indigenous Peoples and the land, water, animals, and natural resources.
Through an interactive and experiential approach, students develop their scientific curiosity while discovering different perspectives on environmental stewardship, biodiversity, and respect for the land.

These workshops provide an opportunity to explore science from a practical, cultural, and environmental perspective while fostering respect, curiosity, and openness toward the knowledge and cultures of the First Peoples of British Columbia.
Our workshops do not claim to represent the full range of cultures and knowledge of the First Peoples. They are designed to introduce students to different perspectives and foster respect, curiosity, and dialogue.
Recognition of Traditional Territories
Our Commitment
In the spirit of respect, learning, and reconciliation, Profaqua gratefully acknowledges that its activities take place on the traditional territories of many First Nations in British Columbia.
We specifically acknowledge that our head office is located on the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, whose ancestral languages are hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh.
Through our workshops, we aim to spark students’ scientific curiosity while fostering respect for the environment, Indigenous knowledge, and the deep relationships that have connected the First Peoples to their territories for generations.
Classroom Workshop Pricing
Minimum of two classes per day for this pricing:
- 60-minute workshop: Starting at $205
- 75-minute workshop: Starting at $256
Minimum of one class per day for this pricing:
- 2-hour workshop: Starting at $410
Additional Fees
- Travel fee: a minimum of $25 plus $0.90 per kilometre between our office and the workshop location (round trip).
- Travel fees for remote areas: Contact us to learn about our preferred rates: eric.tremblay@profaqua.ca
- Additional fees for perishable materials may apply to certain workshops. This information will be indicated on the selected workshop page.
- A $60 fee will be charged if there is a delay of more than 90 minutes between two workshops.
- GST and PST are additional.
