Offering your students a science experience is often more accessible than you might think.
Many schools across British Columbia are able to fund part or all of their activities through various funding programs, partner organizations, and parent associations.
Funding opportunities vary depending on the type of school, the proposed project, and the programs available.
The good news? Many schools already fund Profaqua activities through these programs. Depending on your school and your project, you may be eligible to benefit from them as well.
Several programs and organizations can contribute to educational, cultural, or science activities.
Here are some funding sources commonly used by schools across British Columbia.
Are You a Conseil scolaire francophone (CSF) School?
PassepART
PassepART micro-grants support cultural and artistic projects that promote students’ linguistic development. Depending on the nature of the project, certain Profaqua science shows and educational activities may meet the program’s eligibility criteria.
Vice-Versa
The Vice-Versa program encourages partnerships between CSF schools and Francophone community organizations. While Profaqua is an incorporated business, schools may apply in partnership with their Parent Association (APÉ), which may be eligible under the program’s criteria.
Are You an English-Language School Offering a French Immersion or Core French Program?
English-language schools also have access to various funding opportunities to enrich French-language learning.
Canadian Parents for French (CPF)
Canadian Parents for French supports the promotion and learning of French across Canada. Depending on the programs currently available, some schools may have access to resources or funding opportunities to organize educational activities in French.
Your Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) is the equivalent of the APÉ in English-language schools. Many PACs provide financial support for educational projects through fundraising activities or their annual budget.
