Job Description

We are a science popularization company that, since 2000, has been dedicated to transmitting its passion for science to young people. Our golden rule is to inspire young people to learn more about this field.

We offer fascinating workshops in two parts: science popularization and training in facilitation – where everyone’s respect and participation are valued by a clear, friendly and professional framework. In addition to being stimulating, our activities meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education, Leisure and Sport with regard to science and technology.

For the organization and coordination of our science camp, we are currently looking for:

ROBOTICS ANIMATOR

Under the authority of the science camp director, you will be responsible for a group.

REQUIRED QUALITIES:

Dynamism, creativity;
Versatility, resourcefulness;
Ability to work in a team and to arouse the interest of children;
Good adaptation capacity.

TASK DESCRIPTION:

Participate in the various trainings before and during the camp;
Participate in work meetings before and during the camp;
Participate in the development and preparation of camp activity programs.

DAILY TASKS:

Animate the activities and supervise the group according to the values ​​of the company;
Act as a motivator and maintain the interest of children;
Ensure the cleanliness of the premises and the good condition of the equipment;
Convey a positive image of the organization at all times;
Schedule weekly activities for his group according to the criteria established by the camp management;
Organize, animate and participate in the gatherings at the beginning of the day;
Ensure compliance with health and safety measures related to COVID-19.

SECURITY:

Ensure the safety of children and premises at all times;
Supervise children during outings;
Provide first aid as needed;
Write all accident reports as needed;
Follow up with parents and camp management;
Report any accident, breakage or anomalies to the camp management.

SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:

Day camp experience an asset;
Bleu Bot robotics experience for 4-5 year olds
LEGO® WeDo 2.0 robotics experience for 6-year-olds;
LEGO® EV3 robotics experience for 7-8 year olds;
LEGO® EV3 and Spike robotics experience for 9-10 year olds;
LEGO® Spike Robotics Experience for 11-13 year olds;
Experience in SCRATCH programming;
DAFA training an asset;
Bilingual (French and English);
Available for all camp weeks;
Available for all formations;
CPR/AED First Aid Course;
No criminal record relating to employment;
Sense of responsibility and good judgment;
Able to transmit information (know how to inform and popularize);
Excellent interpersonal relationships.

Salary: $18 to $20 per hour

Time: 30 to 34 hours per week (9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday)

The ratio of young people / one science animator and one monitor per group: 8 young people aged 4-5, 10 young people aged 6, 12 young people aged 7-8, 15 young people aged 9-10 and 15 young people aged 11-13 .

IMPORTANT: You must be available for the entire duration of the contract. The contract is Monday to Friday, June 27 to August 19, 2022. There will be paid training before the start of camp in June. You must understand that no leave will be granted during this period.
