Profaqua offers a series of outdoor science workshops that give students the opportunity to learn directly in their natural environment. By observing, exploring, and experimenting in the field, students develop their curiosity, observation skills, and understanding of natural phenomena.
Outdoor learning is known for its many benefits: it promotes concentration, stimulates creativity, encourages physical activity, and supports students’ well-being. It is also an excellent way to develop respect for the environment while giving concrete meaning to concepts learned in the classroom.
Designed in connection with the British Columbia curriculum, our workshops transform the schoolyard, a park, or a nearby natural space into a true open-air science laboratory.
Each outdoor experience is an opportunity to observe, explore, and understand scientific phenomena directly in their natural environment.

What to Expect for Outdoor Workshops
- Workshops take place in the schoolyard, a park, or a natural space located near the school.
- To make the most of outdoor conditions, these activities are offered in September, October, May, and June.
- The weather may sometimes surprise us, but it never takes away the joy of learning! In case of bad weather, the activity can be adapted and presented indoors at the school.
Outdoor Workshop Pricing
Minimum of two classes per day for this pricing:
- 60-minute workshop: Starting at $205
- 75-minute workshop: Starting at $256
Additional Fees
- Travel fee: a minimum of $25 plus $0.90 per kilometre between our office and the workshop location (round trip).
- Travel fees for remote areas: Contact us to learn about our preferred rates: eric.tremblay@profaqua.ca
- Additional fees for perishable materials may apply to certain workshops. This information will be indicated on the selected workshop page.
- A $60 fee will be charged if there is a delay of more than 90 minutes between two workshops.
- GST and PST are additional.
