Parent Associations (APÉ)

An important partner in supporting your school’s projects

Parent Associations (APÉ) play an important role in the life of Francophone schools in British Columbia. They provide parents with opportunities to get involved in school and community life and to support initiatives that contribute to students’ well-being and success.

The Fédération des parents francophones de la Colombie-Britannique (FPFCB) supports parent associations across the province by providing guidance, resources, training and networking opportunities.

Why work with your APÉ?

Your APÉ can be an important partner when developing an activity or project for students.

Depending on its structure and the funding programs available, an APÉ may:

• provide financial support for a student activity;
• participate in planning a project;
• help engage parents and the school community;
• collaborate with the school and an external organization or service provider.

Parent associations can also take responsibility for certain projects and manage their own budgets according to their mandate and operating guidelines.

The Fédération des parents francophones de C.-B. is the provincial voice for Francophone parents and supports parent associations in their work. It provides guidance, training, resources and opportunities for parent associations to connect and share with others across British Columbia.
