Vice-Versa

A microgrant to carry out a French-language project with students

The Vice-Versa program, administered by the Fédération de la jeunesse canadienne-française (FJCF), supports projects carried out through partnerships between Francophone community organizations and Francophone schools in minority-language communities.

The goal is to enable students to actively participate in the planning, selection and implementation of the project.

$1,500 per school and per project

Vice-Versa provides a $1,500 microgrant per school and per project.

A school can receive one microgrant per school year. When the same project is carried out in several eligible schools, the funding amounts can be combined.

Travel/remoteness bonuses may also be available in certain regions.

Which schools can participate?

The program is open to schools from kindergarten to Grade 12 that are listed in Vice-Versa’s directory of eligible schools.

For the 2026–2027 school year, funded projects must take place between August 25, 2026 and June 30, 2027.

Who can apply?

Applications must be submitted by a properly incorporated Canadian non-profit organization (NPO).

The organization must establish a partnership with one or more eligible schools before submitting the application.

What if you would like to bring Profaqua to your school?

Profaqua can contribute to French-language science projects that allow students to actively engage in the project, rather than simply participate in a one-time activity.

For example, a project could allow students to explore a science topic, choose an activity or approach, and then take part in delivering the project with Profaqua.

Important: Projects whose main focus is arts, culture or heritage should instead be submitted through the PassepART program.

Three types of projects

Vice-Versa supports several types of projects, including:

Single-school project
A project carried out with one school on a specific date.

Tour project
The same project delivered in several schools on different dates. A tour must take place within the same province or territory.

Gathering project
A one-time project that brings together students from several schools within the same region.

How does the funding work with Profaqua?

1. Develop your project
The school and partner organization discuss a project that meets Vice-Versa’s objectives and involves students in its development.

2. Contact Profaqua
We can discuss how a science activity could be incorporated into your project.

3. The partner organization submits the application
The partner NPO submits the application online to Vice-Versa in collaboration with the school.

4. Carry out the project
Once funding is approved, the organization receives the microgrant and the project can be carried out with the students.

2026–2027 school year

Funded projects must take place between August 25, 2026 and June 30, 2027.
