PassepART

A microgrant to bring culture, heritage and the French language to schools

The PassepART program, funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage and administered by the Fédération culturelle canadienne-française (FCCF), supports cultural, artistic and heritage projects in French in Francophone schools.

Up to $1,500 per school per year

PassepART provides a $1,500 microgrant per school per year for one eligible activity, with one funded activity per school each school year.

The grant can help cover fees, materials, coordination and certain transportation costs.

Which schools can participate?

The program is open to Francophone schools from kindergarten to Grade 12 across Canada.

Activities can take place during school hours or as part of an extracurricular program.

The role of the APÉ

Applications must be submitted by an eligible non-profit organization (NPO), not directly by the school.

The Association des parents d’élèves (APÉ) may be a potential partner if it meets PassepART’s eligibility criteria.

What activities are eligible?

Activities must be offered in French and include an artistic, cultural or heritage component, while encouraging student and Francophone community participation.

What if you would like to bring Profaqua to your school?

Some Profaqua activities may be incorporated into an eligible project, including:

Indigenous Peoples Workshops
Activities that explore the connections between science, territory, the environment, knowledge and Indigenous cultures.

Outdoor Workshops
Activities that allow students to explore their environment, their territory and their natural heritage.

Science Shows
Some science shows may also be incorporated into a cultural or community project, depending on its nature.

The eligibility of the activity must be confirmed according to PassepART’s criteria before relying on this funding.

How does funding work with an APÉ?

1. Choose your activity
The school and APÉ identify a project that aligns with PassepART’s objectives.

2. Discuss the project with Profaqua
We can help you choose the activity that best fits your project.

3. The APÉ submits the application
If eligible, the APÉ submits the application online. The school then confirms the activity with the designated contact person at its school board or district.

4. Deliver the activity
Once funding is approved, the microgrant is paid to the partner organization and the activity can take place.

Important dates — 2026–2027

• June 15, 2026 — Applications open
• September 1, 2026 — Activities begin
• February 12, 2027 — Application deadline
• June 30, 2027 — End of the activity period

Additional travel support

A $500 travel/remoteness bonus may be available in certain eligible regions. Additional funding is also available for the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
