Let\u2019s find out how computers work !<\/strong><\/p>\n

In homage to Alan Turing, one of the fathers of modern computing, Turing Tumble is a brand new logic and thinking game where young people must solve puzzles by building ballpoint computers. Using ramps, crossovers, bits, interceptors, cogwheels and binary wheels, the young person builds various models of ball-bearing computers that can produce sequences, carry out logical operations, count, execute additions, subtractions, multiplications, divisions and much more!<\/p>\n

The game takes the form of a large, almost vertical board into which small colored plastic pieces can fit. These parts play the role of logic gates, memory but also wires transmitting information and energy. At the top, we arrange the marbles, red on one side, blue on the other. These are the balls which, by cascading up and down the board, make the pieces move. A ball arriving at the bottom triggers the departure of the next ball by a clever mechanism connecting the bottom to the top of the board. Each enigma is a puzzle: a starting situation and a set of usable pieces are proposed. How to place the pieces on the board to achieve the desired result? This result can be an alternation of colored balls on arrival, or a position of the pieces whose orientation on the board changes as the balls pass. For the first four puzzles, only one type of piece is used, and we gradually discover how to guide the marbles on the board.<\/p>\n
