Together, we will find out the answers to these fascinating questions through five exciting experiments that focus on the differences in size of the five Great Lakes, water filtration, the river\u2019s salt content, bank erosion and water density! We will then sail from the Great Lakes to the Pacific Ocean on one of the world\u2019s most dangerous sea routes!<\/p>\n<p><strong>For 15 more minutes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s continue our exploration of the Fraser River by travelling along its banks in region.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the elementary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the location of natural freshwater sources and natural sources of salt water.<\/li>\n<li>Illustrate the importance of the five Great Lakes of US and Canada.<\/li>\n<li>Define the following terms: &#8220;sources&#8221; &#8220;river mouth&#8221; &#8220;upstream&#8221; and &#8220;downstream&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the water filtration system.<\/li>\n<li>Compare the different salinity zones of the St. Lawrence River and identify them on a map.<\/li>\n<li>Classify the different stages of a method for shoreline preservation of the St. Lawrence River.<\/li>\n<li>Illustrate the principle of water density of water.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On board, sailors!
