{"id":1564,"date":"2017-07-26T04:02:42","date_gmt":"2017-07-26T03:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.profaqua.ca\/product\/climatic-environment\/"},"modified":"2024-03-21T14:03:44","modified_gmt":"2024-03-21T19:03:44","slug":"climatic-environment","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/www.profaqua.ca\/en\/produit\/climatic-environment\/","title":{"rendered":"Climatic environment (British Columbia)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Vegetation \u2013 Soil \u2013 Water: a delicate balance!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Is it possible to grow cactus in Montreal?\u00a0 To answer this question, we offer our young environmentalists three workshops on the various factors that influence vegetation cover on our planet Earth, such as climate, water and soil composition.\u00a0 A great way to raise their awareness on the impact that we can have on our planet!<\/p>\n<p><strong>On the menu:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1) Climates and seasons (60 min)<\/p>\n<p>2) Water cycle (60 min)<\/p>\n<p>3) Underground life (60 min)<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the elementary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the types of climate (cold, temperate, hot).<\/li>\n<li>Describe the major areas of vegetation in Quebec, Canada and the world.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the impact of climate on goods imported into Canada<\/li>\n<li>Describe where Earth\u2019s water comes from.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the different stages of the water cycle (evaporation, condensation, precipitation, runoff and infiltration).<\/li>\n<li>Identify natural freshwater sources and natural sources of salt water<\/li>\n<li>Experiment how atmospheric pressure acts on water (compression, displacement and temperature increase).<\/li>\n<li>Understand the language of weather forecasts (Weather Channel and Environment Canada).<\/li>\n<li>Describe wind strength and direction.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the different forms of precipitation (rain, snow, hail and freezing rain)<\/li>\n<li>Describe the impact of weather phenomena on daily life.<\/li>\n<li>Explain how the different structures on the Earth\u2019s surface (oceans, continents, ice caps, mountains and volcanoes) influence weather conditions<\/li>\n<li>Describe the impact of the increase in greenhouse gases on the planet.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Vegetation \u2013 Soil \u2013 Water: a delicate balance!
