During this period, shell fossils were found in the walls of buildings and on the roadsides. How were these fossils formed and what do they teach us about the history of our planet Earth? Your aspiring paleontologists will conduct a dangerous investigation to identify seven real-life fossils presented to them. They then choose their favourite to make their own cast fossil that they get to take home!<\/p>\n<p><strong>For 30 more minutes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s go up the geological time scale, from cyanobacteria to human beings, using a five-metre clothesline to show the sequence of major evolutionary events!<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the elementary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the major stages in the evolution of living things.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the formation of fossils<\/li>\n<li>Differentiate between a rock and a fossil.<\/li>\n<li>Classify different kinds of fossils based on how they are formed.<\/li>\n<li>Make an imprint of a fossil to take home.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shells everywhere!
