Young minds will take a trip around the world to learn about the different types of climate on our planet Earth and their effects on the duration of seasons and vegetation. They will gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between vegetation and climate by an awakening of their senses of touch, smell and above all, taste, when they visit our six stations composed of different types of seeds and extracts from countries in different climatic zones. A true feast for their young taste buds!<\/p>\n<p><strong>For 30 more minutes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Extend the fun with two additional stations! Your climate scientists will also learn about the origin of climates and seasons from our two LEGO mini-figures, Raoul and Cecile, located on each side of the globe.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the elementary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand that seasons are linked to the revolution and tilting of the Earth.<\/li>\n<li>Understand that the day and night cycle is linked to the Earth\u2019s rotation<\/li>\n<li>Identify the types of climate (polar cold, temperate, hot).<\/li>\n<li>Describe the difference between dry and wet climate<\/li>\n<li>Identify the major areas of vegetation in Canada and the world.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the impact of climate on goods imported to Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the secondary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the geographic and climatic conditions that influence the distribution of biomes (e.g. latitude, humidity and temperature).<\/li>\n<li>Describe various terrestrial biomes (e.g. flora and climate).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grab your fork!
