We\u2019ll take a walk with our budding botanists to observe in British Columbia spring flowers, including the bloodroot (used by First Nations as makeup) and discover the very distinctive smell (which attracts flies) of the red trillium. The use of a small observation guide will further enrich our exploration. Keep going! Breathe in that fresh air!<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the elementary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Observe budding plants during different growth stages in their natural habitat.<\/li>\n<li>Identify certain plants using a booklet.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the parts of the anatomy of a plant (roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds).<\/li>\n<li>Associate the parts of a plant with their general function.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the forms of sexual reproduction in plants (pistil, stamen, pollen, seed and fruit).<\/li>\n<li>Describe the stages of a flowering plant\u2019s growth (pollination, fertilization, fructification, seed dispersal, germination and flowering).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Outing in the mixed forest of British Columbia !
