Unbelievable, but true! Can you perform such a task? By activating a dynamo, young electricians must power a fan, neon light and motor! The concept of converting mechanical energy into electrical energy, i.e. the production of electrons, is no longer a secret for young electricians. Quiet, we\u2019re busy pedaling!<\/p>\n<p><strong>For 30 more minutes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spend the time helping to build a scale model of a city and make electricity to power the streetlights and traffic lights! Everyone will be part of this great project!<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the elementary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand what electricity is.<\/li>\n<li>Describe energy transformations from one of its form into another (e.g. hydraulic energy into electric energy).<\/li>\n<li>Generate electric current with a dynamo (generator).<\/li>\n<li>Recognize the effects of electromagnetism in electricity.<\/li>\n<li>Operate an engine, a fan and neon light with no electrical outlet.<\/li>\n<li>Understand the use and function of different electric circuits (series, parallel, closed and open).<\/li>\n<li>Be able to read plans with symbols.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the secondary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify the forms of energy involved during a transformation of energy.<\/li>\n<li>Generate electric current using a dynamo to operate an engine, fan and neon light.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the function of different elements of an electric circuit.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the two types of connections in electric circuits (series and parallel).<\/li>\n<li>Differentiate between alternating and direct current.<\/li>\n<li>Explain the current distribution in different components of an electric circuit.<\/li>\n<li>Describe the magnetic field produced by a solenoid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Generate power using a bike!
