They all generate electricity! Young scientists will use these five sources of energy to make calculators work! The results of their calculation: an environmental cost index of each source of energy.\u00a0 We can bet they won\u2019t ever use electricity the same way!<\/p>\n<p><strong>For 30 more minutes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Save energy by giving them more time to further explore the current use of different sources of energy.<\/p>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the elementary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Use different sources of energy in the classroom (mechanical, solar, wind, chemical and hydraulic).<\/li>\n<li>Understand the impact of different sources of energy on the environment.<\/li>\n<li>Explain the difference between renewable and non-renewable energy.<\/li>\n<li>Be familiar with the ways of reducing energy consumption (LED lightbulb, devices with a timer function, renovations, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Understand the use and function of different electric circuits (series, parallel, closed and open).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><strong><u>Objectives at the secondary level:<\/u><\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe the different sources of energy (chemical, thermal, mechanical, hydraulic and solar).<\/li>\n<li>Describe energy transformations taking place when electronic devices are operating.<\/li>\n<li>Define the energy performance of an energy system.<\/li>\n<li>Differentiate between renewable and non-renewable energy resources.<\/li>\n<li>Describe and explain the impact of an increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Energy in all its forms!
